Hydrotherapy (also known as aquatic physiotherapy) is physiotherapy undertaken in warm water to help relieve aches and pains, mobilise stiff joints and improve global muscle strength. Hydrotherapy is suitable for patients impacted by a wide variety of conditions, covering anything from osteoarthritis to previous stroke weakness.

The water in the pool is always kept above 30 degrees celsius to allow your body to relax whilst easing the pain in and around joints. The buoyancy of the water decreases the impact of gravity on the body, reducing stress on joints, tendons and muscles and increasing range of movement.

Hydrotherapy benefits include:
- Allows standing in those who are unable to weight-bear out of the water – the buoyancy effect of water
- Improved walking technique
- Improved aerobic fitness levels
- Improved balance and coordination
- Increased strength of weak muscles
- Increased range of movement in joints
- Improved independence and function
- Improved circulation
- Reduced pain
- Faster recovery from surgery
- Re-education and encouragement of normal movement
- Mobilising and stretching of muscles
- Improve self-confidence
- Reduce the fear of falling/anxiety of movement
- Relaxing and calming experience.

Our Hydrotherapy is carried out by specially trained Chartered Physiotherapists who will be in the water at all times for safety and instruction. We run our hydrotherapy sessions as group classes to allow more interaction and fun into them.
